We make an IMPACT. Do you?
Why is it so important to find a cause you love and give back? Spending time enriching your community is a great way to broaden your perceptions of the world. By immersing yourself in a community and surrounding yourself with people dedicated to bettering the world, you can learn so much about how the world works. You gain a unique sense of purpose by serving those around you, which often manifests in other areas of your life.
At DASH, we believe what matters most is the dash between the year you were born and when you leave this earth. When founders Eddie and Addy nearly lost their then-seven-year-old son to a massive brain hemorrhage, their perspective on how to live their lives was shifted and altered. They have been called to give back.
DASH gives back both locally (near the couple’s hometown of Lancaster, Penn.) and globally to help people in need get food, water, shelter, clothing, and care. Giving back is a great way to learn more about your community and its citizens, and DASH strives to be helpful. By giving back, the team at DASH learns more about the trials, tribulations, and circumstances of those within the community and gain a broader perspective of the different walks of life in your state or city, or even on your own block. Giving back allows DASH to be effective and empathetic citizens who work for the common good.
When you purchase grooming products from DASH (such as beard oil, beard creme, beard wash, or matte clay), you immediately make an IMPACT in your own dash. By purchasing products from DASH, 20 percent of our profits go to people in need. We strive to give back, and our brand’s mission is to give to non-profit organizations worldwide.
What’s even better? DASH products are amazing and were meticulously crafted and tested over a three-year span before going to market. Our products are trusted by thousands of barber professionals while also being featured in GQ magazine.
Past and present initiatives
DASH backs up its chatter.
COVID-19
COVID-19 has affected nearly everyone on the planet, some more than others. With sweeping lockdowns across Pennsylvania, the United States, and the world, people need help now more than ever before. That was especially evident in the hairstyle business as barbers around the state were forced to close their shops earlier this year and continue to face uncertainty regarding impending closures.
DASH sprung into action and provided over $3,000 to 10 different barbers around the community over the course of two weeks in March 2020, allowing out of work professionals to put food on the table and keep heat in the house.
But that’s not all.
Puerto Rico
Unfortunately, Mother Earth gets angry sometimes. At the tail end of January 2020, Puerto Rico experienced an earthquake that ravaged the island, ruining homes and separating families.
DASH also gave back to the people in Puerto Rico devastated by the earthquake. DASH opened a food truck and provided 1,000 meals to people in need of a warm meal.
Over the course of three days, DASH gave 250 haircuts to allow people to feel fresh and clean.
DASH handed out a full UHaul trailer of clothing to those who needed it and gave out 500 bags of toiletry necessities, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, hand wipes, soap, and other goodies to the people of Puerto Rico.
Christmas
Think of Christmas, and you probably have visions of Christmas trees, hot cocoa, a roaring fire, milk and cookies for Santa, and a variety of other traditions that may include decorating the house, Christmas movies, and church.
Now take all of that away.
Christmas is a time for giving, a time for reflection, a time for religion, and a time to be with family to exchange gifts.
One mother was unable to do this for her four children during Christmas 2019. DASH decided to help.
In a partnership with Tabor Community Services out of Lancaster, Penn., DASH took care of and sponsored the single mother of four to help put Christmas presents underneath the tree for her children to keep the Christmas tradition alive for years to come.
